Vildagliptin improves vascular smooth muscle relaxation and decreases cellular senescence in the aorta of doxorubicin-treated rats
CONCLUSION: In summary we conclude that vildagliptin can reduce senescence and improve relaxation of vascular smooth muscle in the aorta of DOX-treated rats, and GLP-1 can reduce senescence of DOX-treated VSMCs. These data suggest that incretin-based drugs are promising candidates for patients suffering from late doxorubicin cardiovascular toxicity.PMID:33744414 | DOI:10.1016/j.vph.2021.106855

Increased fractalkine and vascular dysfunction in obesity and in type 2 diabetes. Effects of oral antidiabetic treatment.
Abstract Activation of fractalkine and other chemokines plays an important role in atherogenesis and, in conjunction with endothelial dysfunction, promotes premature vascular damage in obesity and diabetes. We hypothesized that increased circulating fractalkine coexists with impaired vasomotor function in metabolically healthy or unhealthy obesity, and that treatment with antidiabetic drugs may impact these abnormalities in type 2 diabetes. Compared to lean subjects, in both obese groups the vasodilator responses to acetylcholine and sodium nitroprusside were impaired (both P < .001); ETA-receptor blockade ...

Disparate Effect of Antioxidant Supplements on the Basal Tone and Vascular Remodeling of the Aorta in Hypertensive Rats
Conclusions: Tempol decreased calcium-dependent basal aortic tone and improved vascular homeostasis in L-NAME rats. Vit-C did not lead to a similar effect, suggesting that alterations in the superoxide dismutase pathway may play a role in the basal aortic tone.J Vasc Res

SMIT (Sodium-Myo-Inositol Transporter) 1 Regulates Arterial Contractility Through the Modulation of Vascular Kv7 Channels.
CONCLUSIONS: SMIT1 protein is expressed in vascular smooth muscle cells where it modulates arterial contractility through an association with Kv7.4/Kv7.5 heteromers. PMID: 32787517 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Statin Effects on Vascular Calcification: Microarchitectural Changes in Aortic Calcium Deposits in Aged Hyperlipidemic Mice.
CONCLUSIONS: These results suggest that pravastatin treatment alters the microarchitecture of aortic calcium deposits with potential effects on plaque stability. PMID: 33472400 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Comparative Evaluation of Efficacy and Safety of the Diode Laser (980  nm) and Sclerotherapy in the Treatment of Oral Vascular Malformations
CONCLUSIONS: Laser and sclerotherapy with 3% sodium tetradecyl sulfate both are effective in the treatment of vascular malformations. Diode laser seems to be better than sclerotherapy given lesser side effects and comfort to the patients while sclerotherapy seems to be better in respect to recurrences.PMID:36106096 | PMC:PMC9467756 | DOI:10.1155/2022/2785859
